CATHOLIC CHURCH
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love.” ~ St. Francis of Assisi
ADVISORY COUNCILS
Three Advisory Councils act as consulting bodies to our Pastor. Their purpose is to implement the pastoral plan which is to form members in a stewardship way of life through educational opportunities, community service opportunities, enrichment opportunities, and liturgical celebration, which praises God and demonstrates unity with the diocesan and universal Catholic church in order to give the parish a Catholic identity and to make the parish self-sufficient.
Contact the respective Council Chair if you are interested in becoming involved in one of these Councils.
Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council assists the Pastor in the vision of what St. Francis of Assisi Parish is called to become. They help establish goals and objectives aimed at fulfilling the pastoral plan, and assess the spiritual and non-spiritual needs of the parish. The near-term focus of the Council is to begin to implement the new Diocese norms for the Council to "move from 'maintenance' mode of operation to a more 'mission' mindset to better meet our diocesan goals of 1) Growing in Holiness; 2) Forming Intentional Disciples; and 3) being Sent to Witness."
Parish Pastoral Council members are assigned to an area of ministry as a liaison to the Council. If a parishioner has concerns, knowledge or suggestions to share, they can contact the liaison for that area of ministry as their voice to the Council. Some members of the Council are elected by parishioners while others are appointed by the Pastor.
The Parish Pastoral Council meets the third Wednesday of the month.
